Changes!
We have been learning about changes that happen in the world. This week we did an experiment with Mrs Buckley and Mrs Stafford-Bush to see what changes could happen to popcorn kernels if they are heated. Have a look to see what we learnt!

Let's be creepy crawling insects!

Farewell Jack :(
On Wednesday the 27th of August we spent our last day with Jack. To make it special we made Chinese lanterns and talked about the animal of the year. (Ask your child they should be able to tell you what the 2014 animal of the year is). We finished off with a Kiwiana shared lunch. We have really loved learning and laughing with Jack and wish him all the best back in Taiwan.
Our 100 days of school day!!
Plant life cycle dance + music
2.7.14
Hillary students thought it would be fun to plan a dance that showed the life cycle of a plant starting from its seed, right through to the flower flowering. They also decided to make the music by making wind instruments. Have a look at us - we might be the next x-factor winners!

Look at our plants they are growing!
Our plants are slowly starting to grow. They have got sprouts and we guess roots.
They have stopped growing as fast as they were the last couple of weeks and we have come up with some reasons why.
We have decided that what we need to do now is plant some more seeds.
They have stopped growing as fast as they were the last couple of weeks and we have come up with some reasons why.
- They didn't get enough water
- We planted them at the wrong time
- Maybe the storm made too much rain and now there is too much sun
- They drowned
- There was not enough sun
- Bugs might have eaten them
- Too much sun
- They need more time
- Someone thought they were weeds and pulled them out
- They were too deep
We have decided that what we need to do now is plant some more seeds.

Geometry in hillary room
Hillary Room has been looking at lots of different shapes this term. They have been able to sort them into different categories, draw them and describe them. Have a look at all the 3-D shapes that came from home. Maybe you could get your child to name the shape for you?
We have also been looking at TESSELLATIONS! Look at what clever patterns hillary students have made.
SHOP DAY! Tuesday 8th march
Today we had shop day! It was so much fun. We were able to buy used toys and some yummy lollies. All the money from shop day is going to our sponsor child in Tanzania. We hope you enjoy the photos as much as we enjoyed the day!
